Easter is a great time for many families to get together, with youngsters enjoying the thrill of an Easter egg hunt, but it can easily become a pricey endeavour. There are plenty of elaborate Easter eggs on the market, with prices reaching £20 per egg without blinking, but there are some egg-cellent options (yeah, I went there, sorry, not sorry) to fit a variety of budgets that give just as much pleasure. Thanks to discount stores and supermarket loyalty schemes, there are even better deals to be had with just a little shopping around.

In the box, there’s a large, wrapped egg which combines Dairy Milk chocolate with crunchy Biscoff pieces, and 8 individually wrapped chocolate chunks, filled with Biscoff spread and Biscoff pieces for added texture and flavour.
Cadbury Twirl XL

For lovers of a classic, the Twirl XL Easter egg has to be up there as the one to go for. The extra-large egg is accompanied by 2 Twirl bars, but don’t get overexcited – they are the single-finger variety, not the double you might be hoping for. At least as singles, you won’t be expected to share…
Cadbury White Creme Eggs and Cadbury Biscoff Eggs

Easter wouldn’t be Easter without the Creme Egg. A staple of the Easter scene since the early 1970’s, Cadbury Creme Eggs are a moorish treat that is hard to pass up. But Cadbury has taken it a step further, expanding the range with not only a white chocolate version, but also a Biscoff-filled egg to tempt us even further.
Both are utterly delicious and at £4 for a pack of 5 eggs, are going to mean some serious dieting after the Easter season is over.
If you’re looking at a more cost-effective Easter egg-stravaganza (sorry, couldn’t help myself), an Easter egg hunt is always fun, particularly for the younger members of the family. Rather than going all-out with full-sized eggs, stash some miniature eggs or treat-sized favourites around the house and garden and set them loose with an Easter basket to collect as many as possible.
Poppets Poppeggs

Poppets, well known for its bite-sized filled sweets, has joined the Easter party with the release of Poppeggs. Poppets’ chocolate, surrounded by a crisp sugar shell, is the newest seasonal offering and makes a great addition to any Easter egg hunt.

Smarties Egg Hunt Pack

Smarties are another favourite in the chocolate aisle, and Nestle have included an egg hunt pack with its Easter egg line-up.
The pack has 8 individually wrapped eggs, each containing a handful of mini Smarties, that give them an appealing (and nostalgic) rattle when shaken. The bright blue wrapping is adorned with colourful Smarties and a character, encouraging little ones to collect the set of four different faces.
Tesco Egg Hunt Basket

The big brands have a lot to offer, but don’t forget about the humble supermarket offers. Tesco has an egg hunt option with “approx. 18 eggs”, according to the packaging. Our pack had 20 eggs, making it even better value.
The hollow eggs are individually wrapped in pastel-coloured foil, and while they are fairly thin, the chocolate
is high-quality and extremely tasty. A great alternative for cash-conscious parents.

If you just can’t decide which is your favourite Cadbury’s Easter treat, the Easter Favourites pouch is your friend. With Creme Eggs, treat-sized bags of Mini Eggs and mini Dairy Milk eggs, there’s something for everyone to share. They are also a great pack for an egg hunt.
